Welcome to the Heartland Equitable Development Symposium (Heartland EDS), emphasizing its purpose of promoting collaboration between the public and private sectors to drive impactful development partnerships, project sponsorships, and national private equity investments. The main focus of the symposium revolves around catalyzing real estate and economic growth initiatives within the Greater Kansas City Metropolitan area.

Our focus highlights the central efforts of Heartland EDS, which are Black-led Economic Development and the Black-led Real Estate Development. The former aims to provide financial resources to support the growth, expansion, and sustainability of Black-owned businesses in Kansas City, fostering economic development within the Black community. The latter is committed to advancing opportunities for Black-led real estate development projects, focusing on enhancing the landscape of Kansas City's east side with more than $4 Billion of planned

Transit Oriented Development and Infill Development.

"Why a Symposium?" The symposium format chosen for Heartland EDS, emphasizes its focused approach compared to traditional conferences. The symposium's purpose is to facilitate equitable access to capital for Black-led economic and real estate development. This concentrated format encourages in-depth professional expertise and collaboration, enabling collective efforts towards achieving tangible and actionable goals.
